From the Chairperson
Welcome to the 16th Lough Ree Environmental Summer Festival, launched by celebrated photographer and local boy, Kip Carroll. This year we aim to deliver fun and excitement with a Raft Race, Duck Race and Air Show. Due to the success of the outings last year, we are bringing back Bushcraft camping for children. There will also be a Wind Energy Seminar, Herbalist Workshop, Glass Painting classes and trips to inform and explore our own local heritage sites. We hope you will take part and enjoy the few days entertainment on offer and the exhibitions running throughout.
Kip Carroll
Kip Carroll is a renowned photographer who has built up a reputation in fine fashion photography over the last 25 years… and he grew up in Lanesborough and Longford Town! Most people will be familiar with his work in Sunday Independent Life magazine each week. His images have also appeared in Hello Magazine, OK! Magazine, Irish Tatler, Image, The Gloss, Stern, Social & Personal, The Times, The Sun, The News, News of the World, The Mirror & The Guardian and his work covers fashion, portraits, weddings and fine art landscape photography. We are really excited to welcome back Kip to Lanesborough and the Shannon, which remains very close to his heart, to launch this year’s programme.
