Sensei Kevin McKenna is the Instructor in Lanesborough and is a 3rd Dan in Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu. He has over 15 years of Karate training under him and is also the holder of two world championships in Kumite (sparring). So don’t be afraid to stop and look in on a Monday evening when we train. Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu International is the creation of Beaumont Sensei, 7th Dan Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu USKK. It is the product of more than 30 years in Karate-Do, under such great masters as Soke Nagamine, Hanshi Phillip Koeppel, Kyoshi William R Hayes, Hanshi Doug Perry, Kimo Wall, Sensei Sherman Harell, Hanshi Patrick McCarthy and Vince Morris amongst others.
Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu Ireland Karate-Do Association is a group of dojo and students that have chosen to follow the teaching of Beaumont Sensei. Techniques are performed in a manner that results in the greatest speed and power possible without causing injury or harm to the person performing them.
