Shannonside Camera club focus on an exchange of ideas and information among members. The club have had presentations on portraiture, restoration of old photographs, picture mounting, and studio photography workshops. We have around 30 members and meet on the first Tuesday of each month in the ESB Sports & Social Clubhouse.
was formed on the 24th March 2009. The stimulation to form the club came about as a result of local camera classes held in the winter of 2008/2009, jointly organised by ESB Lanesboro Retired Staff and Co. Longford VEC Adult Education. The Club held its first exhibition the following April at Lanesboro’ Shannonside Heritage Country Market which had on display vintage cameras and photographs taken by the club members.
We have an internet site which promotes this focus, gives club news, uploads member’s photos and provides links to interesting photographic sites.
